Cardamom

Cardamom is an aromatic dried spice made from the seed pods of tropical plants in the ginger family (Zingiberaceae). Available in green, black, and white cardamom varieties with green being most common. Green cardamom tastes warm, sweet, and floral with bright citrus, mint, and eucalyptus notes. Black cardamom tastes.  Black cardamom tastes heavy, smoky, and earthy with a camphor-like depth.

Common Uses

• Sweet Dishes: Used in Scandinavian pastries, cakes, and Indian desserts.

• Beverages: Steeped in spiced teas (chai) and coffees.

• Savory Food: Added to Indian curries, rice dishes, and savory spice blends.
